Founder of RDS Services, LLC

For more then two decades, I have worked with clients to assist them in managing their group benefit plans. My expertise is with public organizations of all sizes including nonprofit groups and municipalities. My focus is on healthcare cost containment, innovative plan design solutions and effective employee communication of all benefit programs within a union setting. We have incorporated services specific to the Municipal market in areas such as GASB consulting, Retiree Drug Subsidy, Collective Bargaining support and Medicare Act services.

Mark was one of Corp! Magazine’s 2008 Honorees for Entrepreneurs of Distinction.

Team Member Responsibilities: Total account direction, including strategic planning, total plan process management, plan design and financial analysis.

RDS Program Director

I have over 20 years of diversified administrative and supervisory experience in healthcare and financial services. Since early 2005, I have specialized in managing all parts of the Retiree Drug Subsidy program - from the RDS Application through the 12 steps of Reconciliation. I work with organizations throughout the country to ensure they receive the maximum subsidy dollars allowable under the Medicare & Modernization Act of 2003. My team and I continually educate ourselves as ever changing CMS guidance is communicated and I have built strong relationships with carriers, PBM’s, and within the CMS organization itself to ensure all RDS requirements are met.

Team Member Responsibilities: Work directly with organizations on all RDS processes including application submission, compliance issues, certification procedures, retiree data uploads, carrier communication, and annual reconciliation.

Account Manager

My experience comes from operational, service and management positions with insurance companies, third party administrators, brokerage and consulting firms. As a consultant/project manager for the past twelve years, I have worked with clients to design and implement comprehensive benefit programs and cost containment strategies, enroll employees and retirees in the programs, and service clients throughout the year.

Team Member Responsibilities: Support the RDS team in every aspect of client service. Documentation of complete client case history. Oversee the seamless implementation of new or transfers of coverage with carriers. Create employee/retiree communications including enrollment forms, benefit booklets and website. Identify and resolve any minor or major issues and provide daily account management to the client. Work with team in areas of financial reporting and analysis, benefit/funding reviews, vendor selection and evaluation. Research and implement legislative changes.

Plan Analyst

My expertise lies in the creation of financial analysis of health and welfare plans for mid to large sized groups. My primary focus is comprised of cost reporting, financial projections, bid procurement and analysis, and financial modeling. As our groups have significant union presence, I am customarily preparing reports and analyses in preparation for collective bargaining. I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from Oakland University.

Team Member Responsibilities: Maintain a 360 degree approach to cost reporting. This includes critical analysis of past, present, and future claim activity to monitor trends and provide insight. Also, seek proposals from the marketplace and score results to determine the solution that best meets each client’s needs. Lastly, create a renewal and budget analysis for each group’s fiscal year.

RDS Program Specialist

My professional background includes extensive experience in the disciplines of finance and accounting. I have held numerous analytical, specialist, and managerial positions. Specific responsibilities ranged from cost and consolidation accounting to budgeting, business planning, and financial analysis and reporting. My education includes an undergraduate degree from Wayne State University with a major in Corporate Finance and a minor in Spanish, and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Detroit.

Team Member Responsibilities: Work directly with the RDS Program Manager to support organizations with the administration of the RDS program and all aspects relating to the RDS web site.
